Backend Developer (m/f/d)

We are looking for a motivated Backend Developer, who not only builds our platform but also takes responsibility – end-to-end, from architecture to operation. If you live ownership, find pragmatic solutions, and want to make a real impact in the digital health sector, you are right with us.

Your tasks

• Development & Optimization: Backend with PHP 8, Symfony 7 and API Platform.
• Integrations & Data flows: including Mirth Connect, HL7, FHIR – robust, secure interfaces.
• API Design: Building and further development of internal and external APIs (versioning, auth, rate-limiting).
• Collaboration: close collaboration with Frontend (React) and Product; clean interfaces and clear handovers.
• Performance & Scaling: Profiling, caching strategies, queueing, nginx-tuning.
• Quality: Tests (unit/integration), code reviews, clean code, security best practices.
• DevOps & Infra Ownership: CI/CD, containerization (Docker), orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), cloud (AWS/GCP), Infrastructure as Code, Observability (logs, metrics, tracing), alerting & incident handling.

What you bring with you

• At least 2 years of experience as a backend developer in a productive environment (ideally digital health or regulated domains).
• Solid knowledge in PHP 8, Symfony 7 and modern API development.
• Practice in system integrations and health standards (HL7, FHIR) as well as in the web stack (nginx).
• Hands-on with CI/CD, Docker/K8s, Cloud-Infra, IaC, Monitoring/Alerting.
• Ownership mindset: you take responsibility, create clarity, and deliver reliably.
• Open, constructive, high quality standards – and the will to truly drive things forward.
