Instructions for Colorectal Cancer Screening

With our colorectal cancer screening test, you can easily and safely conduct an important health examination from the comfort of your home – without a doctor's visit. This guide will take you step by step through the process, from preparation to sample collection and shipping.

General Instructions

Please read the instructions carefully in advance and follow each step.

• It is best to bring the stool sample to a Deutsche Post branch (mailbox drop-off) on the day of collection. Until shipping, store the sample in the refrigerator.
• Keep the container out of reach of children.
• The liquid contained in the container must not be swallowed and must not come into contact with the eyes or mucous membranes. The container is designed to prevent leakage of the liquid. In case of accidental contact, please seek medical professional assistance immediately.
• Collect the stool sample immediately after excretion.
• Do not insert the container or any parts of it under any circumstances into the anus.
• Stool samples should not be taken during menstruation , if bleeding occurs at the anus (e.g., with hemorrhoids or for other reasons), or if the stool is contaminated with urine.
• Use the container only once and avoid direct sunlight.
• Do not open or attempt to open the transparent cap.
• Suitable only for persons over 18 years of age.

Step 1: Preparation

1. Carefully read the instructions on the back of the manual.
2. Prepare all materials: treatment unit (tube with green cap), absorbent pad, plastic bag, return envelope.
   

Step 2: Execution

1. Go to your toilet. Place some toilet paper in the toilet bowl. The bowel movement should occur over the toilet paper. Avoid contact with water or urine.
2. Unscrew the green cap with the sampling stick. Do not hold the tube upside down.
3. Insert the sampling stick at four different points into the stool, not too deeply.Then crosswise streak over the surface.
4. Ensure that all indentations are filled with stool. Do not take an excessive amount of stool.
5. Screw the green cap back tightly onto the tube.
6. Invert the tube several times. It must not be opened again now.
   

Step 3: Shipping

1. First, place the tube in the provided plastic bag (sticker bag) and seal it.
2. Place the plastic bag in the return envelope.
3. Bring the sample to the post office by the next day at the latest.
