Mycoplasma hominis

Mycoplasma hominis is one of the smallest known bacteria and can occur in the genital tract. In some people, it causes inflammation of the urinary tract or genital organs.

Since the bacteria are difficult to detect, diagnosis is usually made via PCR tests. Detection can help clarify possible causes of discomfort or infections.
