Haemophilus ducreyi

Haemophilus ducreyi is the bacterium that causes the so-called soft chancre (chancroid) – a rare but painful sexually transmitted infection.

The disease leads to painful ulcers in the genital area. A PCR test detects the DNA of the pathogen and enables targeted treatment.
